She’s Awake!

A celebration of two years of dedicated steps towards a vision, finally taking shape...

Three weeks ago, an email arrived that made me squeal out loud at my desk:

“Dear Nathalie, your book is now live on our website.”

Live. Real. Happening.

I immediately opened the link and there she was - Awakening the Sleeping Queen: How to Reclaim Your Feminine Wisdom and Power - with a publication date of 28th April 2026 and a pre-order button that actually works.

I know the cover isn’t there yet (though if you’re part of the inner circle, you can see an exclusive preview of the working cover at the end!), but somehow seeing those words on the Troubador website made something shift inside me. This is really happening. This book that’s lived in my head and heart for over two years, that’s gone through countless drafts and revisions, that represents so many moments of doubt and determination - it’s going to exist in the world.

That was two days before I left for a two-week pilgrimage to Egypt - a journey I’d been called to take, though I didn’t fully understand why until I was there.

I tried to post this announcement from Egypt. I drafted versions on my phone, sitting by the Nile. But every time I went to press ‘publish’, something stopped me. It didn’t feel right. My mind wasn’t in it. So I did something that felt both radical and utterly necessary: I gave up on social media and decided to be fully present instead.

The pilgrimage turned out to be life-changing in ways I’m still processing - though I will share about it in the coming weeks (so if you want to travel with me, do subscribe so you don’t miss a post!). It marked the end of a long journey - one that happened to coincide with the end of the year of the snake in the Chinese zodiac - and the beginning of something new. Something characterized by action and momentum, after months of waiting.

For the past three months, I’d been in hibernation. Waiting. Trusting. Watching for that unmistakable pull toward action. And now, a few days after returning home, it’s finally here.

This feels remarkably apt for a book called Awakening the Sleeping Queen!

Getting to this point has required more brave steps than I can count. Some felt enormous at the time - pressing ‘send’ on that first draft to early readers, for instance. Others seemed smaller but were just as significant - showing up to write even when I was convinced it was all rubbish, pushing through the sections that felt too vulnerable to share, trusting that my story might matter to someone else.

And here’s what I know with absolute certainty: I wouldn’t have taken those steps without support. From the people who read that first very messy draft and somehow saw what it could become. From those who offered thoughtful feedback that helped me find clarity when I was lost in the weeds. From the friends who listened to me process my fears and doubts. And from those of you who, over these past months and years, have simply said things like “I can’t wait to read your book” - words that landed in moments when I needed them most.

So this feels like a moment to pause and say thank you. To acknowledge that whilst the writing itself might be solitary, the journey to publication absolutely isn’t.

Awakening the Sleeping Queen is for high-achieving women who feel disconnected despite their success. For those of us who’ve built the career, ticked the boxes, mastered the art of having it all - yet still feel something is missing. Why do we feel so disconnected from ourselves?

This isn’t another book about leaning in or the seven steps to success. It’s an invitation to come home to yourself - through story and inner work, not framework and strategy. Because fulfilment isn’t waiting for you at the top of another ladder…
